If you suffer from pain in your back, neck, hips, or shoulders, spinal decompression may provide you with the relief you need. This gentle treatment doesn’t require any invasive procedures or potentially dangerous pain medication, helping relieve pain and restore function naturally.
At Premier Chiropractic, we have used spinal decompression to help people just like you relieve pain and improve mobility to get back to doing the things they love.
Spinal decompression helps the following symptoms and conditions:
- Back or neck pain
- Bulging or herniated disks
- Degenerative disk disease
- Injured or diseased spinal nerve roots (called radiculopathy)
- Sciatica (pain, weakness, or tingling that extends down the leg)
- Spinal stenosis
How Does Spinal Decompression Work?
Spinal decompression is a chiropractic care treatment that uses a specialized traction table to slowly stretch your spinal column, relieving pressure on the discs between your vertebrae.
During the stretching motion, your discs retract and are able to receive nutrient-rich fluids and oxygen to help with the healing process. We perform spinal decompression on a motorized table where the lower half moves slowly from side to side when activated.
Once you’re on the table, a harness is wrapped around your hips and attached to the bottom end close to your feet. The upper part of the table remains fixed in place while the lower part slides gently back and forth to stretch and relax your spine.
It’s during these cycles of stretching and relaxation that blood flow improves, and you can expect more nutrients to flow to the injured area.
Call us and tell us about your health issues and set up a free consultation to discuss the treatment that will best get you back to optimum health.
When you have spinal decompression therapy, the natural space between your vertebrae is restored, and the tension on any affected nerves will be relieved.
Many patients report feeling relief in other parts of the body as the nervous system is relaxed and healing is allowed to take place.
Avoid Back Surgery with Decompression Therapy
Many of our patients turn to spinal decompression therapy in an effort to avoid back surgery. Anytime you have surgery in or around your spinal column, there’s a risk of potentially serious complications.
Not only are you open to infection during any surgery, but scar tissue around your spine can create serious problems moving forward. Having spinal decompression can help restore normal function to your spine, hips, neck, and shoulders, which may put you in a position where you can avoid surgery altogether.
The gentle nature of the treatment helps support your body’s natural healing process, and when healing takes place, you have the opportunity to experience long-term pain relief.
We have used spinal decompression as an effective treatment to relieve pain associated with a variety of different issues and conditions, including:
- Herniated discs
- Degenerative disc disease
- Bulging discs
- Spinal stenosis
- Failed back surgery
